-Lead author of D41 Board letter in 2020 to Governor Pritzker to provide state funding for Covid measures in public schools similar to the PPP loans private schools were granted; to fully fund Evidence-Based Funding model; to establish and fund Tier 2 Preschool For All; to provide capital funding to school districts to expand Early Childhood Education and Full Day Kindergarten across the state.

-6th Congressional District Community Education Advisory Committee member. 

-Represented District 41 to the Legislative Educators Network of DuPage County. 

-Board delegate to the Illinois Association of School Board (IASB) Delegate Assembly. 

-IASB Legislative Committee Member

-Authored and presented IASB Resolutions for safe gun storage laws to prevent school shootings and to create state Capital Development grants for public school districts.

-Authored and presented IASB Belief Statement amendment, expanding the definition of student health.   

-Strategic Plan Committee Member.  Worked collaboratively to develop a new 5-year strategic plan with a diversity, equity, and inclusion focus, and a goal to build facilities to house expanded Early Childhood programs and implement Full Day Kindergarten.

-Top 10% performing district in Illinois per ISBE

-PreK Program achieved Gold status

-Board was awarded IASB School Governance Recognition for the first time in 2019 and again in 2021.  (Awarded every two years as applicable)

-Purchased land to build and expand learning opportunities

-Adopted new strategic plan

WHAT'S NEXT?

​

-Create a plan to implement full day kindergarten in line with our Strategic Plan.

-Hire a new Superintendent as Dr. K retires next year.

-Support 21st century learning intiatives.

-Support programs to benefit all learners and to close achievement gaps.
